The Cuda 23 is Rob's second Andros. He started with a Bonefish 22 which he kept for close to a year. Rob along with Capt. Mike Mahan (owns a Bonefish 22) are two of Andros' top guides. They fish the ESPN Madfin, Team Andros and took second place in season three in March 2008. Rob needed a boat he could fish inshore in Charlotte Harbor, maneuver Boca Grande Pass for Tarpon and Sharks, and run to the reefs and wrecks off the west coast of Florida. He also needed a Tournament boat that would allow him and Team Andros to be competitive.
"Before I decided on my first Andros I did a ton of research. Honestly it came down to Andros for three main reasons: Quality of the construction, the ride and their customer service. The factory tour really impressed me and the fact that every boat is pretty much customized for you was a huge selling point for me. The demo ride really opened my eyes to the awesome and dry ride of a Panga style boat. Their customer service is what it should be - for the customer. It's the best I have seen yet."
Rob's Cuda 23 sports a custom powder coated tower, Minn Kota trolling tabs, A Hummingbird color Plotter / Fish finder with side imaging, an 8ft Powerpole, a custom bow mounted fighting chair and other unique features. His boat is powered with a Suzuki 250 and tops out at just under 50mph. "My advice when boat shopping is to narrow down which boats you are interested in and then schedule a factory tour for each one. A tour that shows you the entire process. Then get a sea trial. I'd never ever buy a boat without riding in one first. Then ask for references, people that actually own their boats. Call me, I would be happy to share my experiences with Andros and my boat.
